Bite into Tradition, Support a Mission

In Berkeley, California, we've created a sanctuary at Outbaking, where the universal language of baking brings together those who have fled the unthinkable horrors of Russian - Ukrainian war. This initiative is far removed from the realm of politics. It transcends the discussions of right or wrong, focusing solely on the human aspect—the mothers, grandparents, and their children seeking refuge and a semblance of normalcy in a foreign land. Many arrive with little to their names, facing language barriers that make it challenging to find work and support their families.

This is where your support becomes pivotal. With every purchase, you're not just indulging in the authentic taste of traditional Eastern European pastries; you're offering a lifeline of hope and opportunity to individuals determined to rebuild their lives. Together, we can turn the act of baking into a powerful statement of community, resilience, and solidarity.

Join us in making a difference. Your support helps us continue this vital mission, providing employment, training, and a sense of belonging to those in dire need. Welcome to Outbaking, where every pastry tells a story of courage, survival, and the unyielding power of the human spirit.

Three Varieties of Rugelach.

Delight in the richness of our rugelach, available in three classic varieties: Poppy Seed, Apricot, and Strawberry filling. We love to celebrate the seasons at our bakery, and occasionally, we introduce exclusive seasonal varieties to our menu—like Cranberry for Halloween or Red Currant to ring in the New Year. Keep an eye on our website or sign up for our mailing list to be the first to know when new rugelach flavors join our delicious lineup.

Our bakery has become more than a workplace; it's a community where those refugees find solace, purpose, and a sense of belonging. We bake the authentic Ukrainian Rugelach using centuries-old recipes, but what we bake is not just a pastry; it's a beacon of hope, resilience, and shared humanity.
